In our new video, we captured a real and very common life situation that carriers face. Driving along the highway, our team noticed a green Volvo FH with a stalled Carrier independent refrigeration unit. Naturally, we couldn't just pass by and stopped to offer professional help. During the initial on-site inspection and diagnostics, the diagnosis was quickly confirmed — it is a classic issue for diesel units. The fuel system of the reefer sucked in air, the diesel stopped flowing into the circuit, and the system went into a hard emergency mode.
When the goods in the trailer start losing the required temperature, there is simply no time to wait for a tow truck, evacuate the truck, or wait for third-party mobile roadside assistance. You need to act instantly. That is why our experienced mechanic applied a time-tested secret "grandpa's method" of priming the diesel circuit right on the dusty shoulder. Thanks to the correct actions and skill, the fuel went into the system, the Carrier Vector reefer engine came to life, and the electronics stopped throwing critical errors. We secured the required cargo temperature and quickly escorted the truck to our nearest service station for a full repair.
